The following are the eligibility criteria for getting a house under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) [PMAY-G]:

1. Eligibility based on priority:

• The beneficiaries are selected on the basis of Socio-Economic Caste Census data. The following groups are given priority:
• Homeless families: Families who do not have any house.
• Families with kutcha houses: Whose houses are kutcha or one-room kutcha houses.

2. Economic status:

• The economic condition of the family should be weak.
• Families falling under the BPL (Below Poverty Line) category are eligible.

3. Social criteria:

• Families of Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST).
• Minority groups, such as Muslims, Christians, Sikhs, etc.
• Divyang (physically disabled).
• Old, widowed and abandoned women.
• Landless labourers.

4. Income Tax Payers (Non-Eligibility):

• Families who pay income tax are not eligible for the scheme.
• Those who have two-wheelers, four-wheelers, tractors etc.
• Those who have government jobs or higher monthly income.
• Families with pucca houses.
