Educational Qualification
CTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Paper 1
Candidates must review the CTET Qualification for Paper 1 before applying to teach in primary schools in grades 1 through 5.
- passing or appearing in the last year of a two-year Elementary Education Diploma (by whatever name it is recognized) and earning at least 50% of the possible points in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent).
- OR, according to the NCTE (Recognition Norms and Procedure), Regulations, 2002, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% of the possible points and passing or appearing in the last year of a two-year Diploma in Elementary Education (by whatever name it is called). OR
- passing or showing up in the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program and earning at least 50% of the possible points in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent). OR
- Passed or enrolled in the last year of a two-year Diploma in Education (Special Education) with at least 50% of the possible points in Senior Secondary (or its equivalent). OR
- earning a Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) and a minimum of 50% of the possible points.
CTET Eligibility Criteria 2025 for Paper 2
Candidates must first review the CTET Qualification for Paper 2 before applying to teach in government schools in grades six through eight.
- Passed or enrolled in the last year of a four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education (B.El.Ed) program, Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 50% of the possible points. OR
- Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with a minimum of 50% of the possible points and passing or showing up in the last year of a four-year B.A./B. Sc. Ed. or B.A.Ed/B. Sc. Ed. program. OR
- passing or showing up for a one-year B.Ed. program in special education and graduating with at least 50% of the possible points.
- Candidates may take the TET/CTET if they have completed a B.Ed. program approved by the NCTE. OR
- a post-graduation applicant with three years of integrated B.Ed.-M.Ed. and at least 55% of the possible points, or an equivalent grade.
CTET Age Limit 2025
