In an official announcement, the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR) has released the CSIR NET syllabus for the December cycle. CSIR NET, a national level examination, is held every year to determine the eligibility of candidates for Junior Research Fellowships (JRF), Lectureships (LS)/Assistant Proficiencies in Indian Universities and Colleges. The CSIR UGC NET exam December 2024 is scheduled between February 16, 2025 and February 28, 2025. Candidates should prepare a study schedule based on the CSIR NET syllabus.

The CSIR NET questions are divided into three sections, each with a maximum of 200 marks. Part A is devoted to General Aptitude while Parts B & C are devoted to Earth, Atmospheric Ocean and Planetary Sciences. The syllabus includes a list of all the topics that need to be covered.   • The CISR NET examination will be conducted using Computer Based Tests (CBT).
  • The questions are all objective.
  • Exam Duration – 3 Hours
  • The maximum weight of the exam is 200 marks.
  • Each incorrect answer will be penalized by 25 percent.
  • There are three sections to the test: Part A, Part B, and Part C.
  • Part A consists of questions on general aptitude, while Part B and Part C contain questions on the chosen subject.

CSIR Syllabus 2025 for Part A

All five subjects are covered by a single Part A. This section is divided into three subparts, such as quantitative aptitude, data interpretation and reasoning. CSIR NET Syllabus 2025 for Part B & C

The CSIR NET part B and C syllabus are dependent on the chosen subject by the candidate. Part B consists of MCQs that are subject-specific. The total marks for this section will be 70 out 200. Part ‘C, on the other hand includes questions of higher value to evaluate the candidates’ scientific concepts. This part will be scored 100 marks out of 200.
